Consumers Driving Windows 7 to Huge Success

In a move that has really shocked the tech experts of the world due to the recent popularity of not only the Mac computer, but the range of other devices which offer an alternative to traditional PC machines and laptops, Windows 7 is making Microsoft a fortune with its wide spread use. The company has been in a deep battle with Apple as of late for the mind share of consumers world wide since the iPod and now the iPad are taking up quite a bit of extra cash in the budgets of PC savvy consumers. The new operation system has actually turned out to be the best selling software product in Microsoft’s three and a half decade history, making it reign supreme by weighing in at 90 million copies sold at the global level. This far exceeds the sales for Windows Vista, something else that has shocked the critics. The PC user base is embracing the new OS at a very rapid pace. Many analysts feel that timing was everything for Windows 7 and that most consumers do not upgrade every single time a new OS is released, but instead will wait until enough new features that they want to use have been added.

Customer satisfaction has been something of a struggle for Microsoft in recent years after a huge amount of back lash from the company’s flag ship Windows product line so these new numbers and research findings suggest that they may be back on the way up to the former power they used. By tapping a beta crowd of over 8 million users in the public, Windows 7 was built to very strong standards that have helped it sell.
